An inscribed ushebti in bright blue faience 21-22th dynasty
An Inscribed Ushebti in Bright Blue Faience. A mummiform ushebti in bright blue faience with molded details to the face, wig, arms and hoes. Black painted details to the eyes, fillet, hoes and inscription. The inscription is difficult to read but seems to be: ‘The Osiris Hori, justified’ (?) or possibly Mut-…, something with a bird either way. Third Intermediate Period, 21st-22nd Dynasty. H 10 cm. Intact with some discoloration but a good example of the type. Provenance:From an old Swedish coll. Originally purchased in Luxor from a licensed antiquity dealer (Abd el-Galeel) and the receipt with tax stamp is included here, amusingly claiming the piece to be 18th Dynasty. This lot is part of a large private collection of Egyptian antiquities at auction at Lauritz.com Roskilde until 29-31 March 2016. and read .
