A Group of New Kingdom Earrings and Earplugs. Twelve penannular earrings of hoop type in various materials along with three earplugs of mushroom shape that would have been worn in an enlarged lobe piercing. Among the penannular earrings, there is a large example in calcite (M1346) along with a smaller example in even whiter stone (M245a), a fine example in bright cobalt-blue glazed faience (gap made intentionally)(M122), two examples in dark red jasper (one chipped)(M1174, M1579) and another in red and white speckled jasper (very rare)(M593), a perfect pair in carnelian (M477), one in white glass (M307) and three in shell (M245b-c, M478).
