Mold for the Production of Ushebtis (M1023). Late Period. H: 12 cm Ushebti: H 9 cm. Fired Nile silt fabric. Aquired at Bonhams 23/4 1999 A loaf-shaped fired pottery mold for the production of ushebtis of the typical Late Period worker type with foot pedestal, beard and protruding fists. The entire surface of the mould is very worn and pitted due to salt or sand blasting with the exception of the foot area which retains its original slip and part of the back of the mold. This lot is part of a large private collection of Egyptian antiquities at auction at Lauritz.com Roskilde until 29-31 March 2016. and read .
