Faience necklaces with amulets (3)

A group of (3) necklaces restrung from ancient beads. Strung for exhibition. 1. An early 20th century souvenir necklace from a Grand Tour – they don’t make them like this anymore! Consisting of a large group of faience amulets restrung and interspersed with tubular and disk beads of the random find variety. The amulets are a floral pendant, two floral finial beads with notched decoration, two Wadj papyrus columns; an Udjat eye (broken), another smaller Udjat with applied black decoration, a double eye amulet, a small amulet of Thoeris; a broken anthropomorphic deity amulet; a spherical bead and a notched bicone bead. Rare to find such a necklace still intact. Late Period amulets and beads. 2.Two restrung necklaces consisting of small disk beads originally sold as being from the Hyksos period. Some are used on a long stand with a central large spherical bead in bright blue faience with decorative notches around flanked by lens shaped disk beads in bright blue faience. SIP – New Kingdom.
